NEW PART 3 TEST REQUIREMENTS
To become an ADI you must successfully complete a three part qualifying examination. Part 3 is a practical test of your ability to deliver Driving Instruction.
The new PART 3 test commenced in December 2017. The new system seeks evidence that a petentional driving instructor can deliver a non-judgemental and client-centred approach in delivering driver training. The change in the method of assessment is based on the current ADI standards check.
The new marking and assessment structure has moved the bias away from the previous ' Core Competency' structure. The new system now aims to assess that the potential driving instructor is able to produce a training session that contains higher levels of planning to meet the client's needs and that the management of risks is shared, so that the onus is put on the student to make more of an effort to take more responsibility. Also that the trainer is able to recognise the appropriate teaching and learning strategies to correctly deliver enhanced learning.
3 attempts will be allowed to achieve 60% or above, before removal from the ADI Register.
