Driving Standard Driver Training Services

Are you apprehensive about taking your Standard's Check Test ?

I specialise in providing training for ADI's to develop their teaching skills and techniques to meet the New DVSA Standard's Check.

As a former ADI Supervising Examiner, I am fully conversant with all the new requirements for the Standard's Check introduced in 2014. I provide accurate practical training to pass the new Standard's Check on a 1-2-1 basis from £30 per hour.

Alternatively, I provide a comprehensive ADI Home Study Pack and free telephone support from £50

The new Standards Check commenced on 7th April 2014. The new system seeks evidence that a driving instructor can deliver a non-judgemental and client-centred approach to their training. The change in the method of assessment is research based and will seek to improve the standards of training delivered in the UK.

The new marking and assessment structure has moved the bias away from the previous ' Core Competency' structure. The new system now aims to assess that the driving instructor is able to produce a training session that contains higher levels of planning to meet the client's needs and that the management of risks is shared, so that onus is put on the student to make more of an effort to take more responsibility. Also that the trainer is able to recognise the appropriate teaching and learning strategies to correctly deliver enhanced learning.

The marking structure used is no longer on a bi-polar system, instead the instructor must attain marks by showing that they are fully conversant with 17 sub categories associated with the three main evaluations headings. ( 1. Lesson Planning ) ( 2. Risk Management ) ( 3. Teaching & Learning strategies ) These markings are based on the elements of the National Occupational Standards for Driving, and the National Driver and Rider Training Standards.

Care has to be taken to ensure that 8 or more is scored on the Risk Management section. Failure to do so this will fail the assessment irrespective of the final outcome score.

The Grading has been changed from the 1-6 method to,

Grade A will be achieved on scoring 85% (44 out of 51) or above.

 Grade B on scoring between 60% - 84% (31-43).

Below 60% is a fail.

3 attempts will be allowed to achieve 60% or above, before removal from the ADI Register.

Driving Instruction is a practical skill and no matter how much classroom based training is taken, there is still no substitute to hands-on practical training.

PRACTICAL IN-CAR TRAINING from £30 per hour.
