As a DSA examiner I have completed and assessed hundreds of trainees that wanted to gain their CBT approval at Cardington.
I have also completed hundreds of CBT supervision at ATB sites, therefore I have the knowledge and ability to train you to a high standard and pass the DSA examinations.
MOTORCYCLE INSTRUCTOR CBT1
If you are passionate about motorcycles and like to meet people from all walks of life then a career as a motorcycle instructor could be for you.
You will need be over 21 and have held a full motorcycle licence for at least 3 years and be "a fit and proper person". You will have to inform the DSA if you have convictions of motoring or non motoring offences in the last 4 years. At the DSA's discretion some points on your licence may be accepted.
The qualification process consists of a 2 day CBT instructor assessment held at The DSA Centre, Cardington, Bedfordshire. Successful candidates will then be able to run or work at an ATB (Approved Traing Body) as a DSA approved motorcycle instructor.
Following this a half day direct access (DAS) trainer assessment at Cardington can be taken to enable the instructor to train direct access candidates.

My CBT Instructor courses will give you the knowledge and confidence to successfully teach the theory and practical aspects of the Cardington assessments. You will be encouraged to observe several CBT's before your Cardington exams.
The CBT instructor course will cover instructing students and supervising instructors in the following elements,
1. Introduction to the CBT
2. Practical on-site training.
3. Practical on-site riding.
4. Practical on-road training.
5. Practical on-road riding
DIRECT ACCESS INSTRUCTOR
The 2 day Direct Access course will give you the knowledge and skills needed to teach a rider stepping up to a "big bike".
The DAS course will cover,
1.Theory element familiarising the rider with the larger capacity machine.
2.Pre-set tests on-site to help the new rider overcome riding or handling problems.
3.Covering the 12 on-road pre-set tests. (3 used at Cardington)
